It’s been a long week, and while I’d love to compose another thoughtful, meaning-laden post about marketing, I simply don’t want to. Frankly, I’d rather be fly fishing.
Instead, it’s time to have some fun. And we start with the very, very cool “Kancept” design site, which I found via FreshCreations.

Go to Kancept, and you’ll find interesting design concepts waiting for your vote. Not only is some of this stuff seriously cool, but I’m in love with the idea of allowing viewers to vote on the concept.
Think about it: even if the designer simply discards the feedback, he’s still built a following for the product (and the brand).
While some might view this is as a design site, it’s also an excellent example of building a community around a product (in many cases before the product is even released).
Killer Metaphor of the Week
This is a short YouTube video. It’s fun. It’s wacky. And yet – somewhere deep inside me – I can’t help but feel that it’s also an excellent metaphor for the online marketing CRM/sales/engagement “systems” at many companies (that should know better).
Feel free to vote “yay” or “nay” in the comments.
Scary Constitutional Thoughts
Finally, at American Copywriter they’re promising automatic induction into some kind of secret society for any writer willing to foreswear the use of “Monster Savings” in Halloween Retail copy.
Simple enough, and I’d even support the anti “Monster Savings” constitutional amendment they’re promising, though I’d probably have to abandon support if they included “Spooktacular” and “Scary-big” savings. That’s just going too far.
More as it happens here at the Underground. Feels good to have the Underground blog firing again. Enjoy your weekend (assuming you get one).
