It’s cynical, a little salty and no – it’s not new. And yes, it cuts a little too close to the truth in a few places – especially for those in the online world who seem famous simply because they’re famous (the Paris Hilton effect).
Still, this Cinnamon Pants video – “How to be a New Media Douchebag” – is funny stuff. While it plays, ask yourself how many people you know fit the bill.
UPDATE: This is the third time I’ve embedded a video that was later pulled. YouTube isn’t that much fun any more.
(I found this somewhere a couple weeks ago, and I apologize for not remembering where. Let’s just say it’s just here now.)

Hey, what’s with the Trekkies slam? I resemble that remark! The rest? Oh yeah …
A snarky Trekker reference is always good for a laugh, though considering the series was born in the 60s, the fact it’s stil a part of the zeitgeist says a lot, eh?
Star Wars changed the movies. Star Trek changed the world. That’s all anyone needs to know or remember.
Seriously, ST like Superman, is serious American cultural mythology. It’s part of our collective consciousness whether we know it, enbrace it or reject it.
Dorks rule, man.
Roberta: You make me proud to have been on the chess team. Dorks forever.
