Elizebeth: Hey, how about writing a book? I can see it now, “The Grouchy Geezer’s Social Media Guide for World Domination” or “The Grouchy Geezer’s Guide to becoming a Social Media Guru.” ahaha.

Fun to write, but in this environment, it’s probably not the big seller it would need to be to justify the time.

Then again, with so much social media inanity flying about, how hard would it be to write?

Your comment is perceptive, but sadly, I don’t hold out much hope.

My perspective is one of advancement; let everyone else fight it out for low-bid work while you chase the high-end clients and projects you want.

Almost all oDesk postings I see ask for top-notch direct marketing, web and collateral materials at pennies on the dollar – and sadly there are always floods of writers eager to bid even lower than the already-low asking price to score the job.
