Tom, I have the same problem with all my sites. I can get some stuff to work, but the digests (which I live on) either don’t happen, or I get multiple posts and have to go back through my sites and do a regular lobotomy.
I haven’t found a replacement; more’s the pity. Contact me on GTalk and I can tell you the plugins I’ve tried…

I managed to get it working, though not at what you’d call peak efficiency (the bit.ly plugin rescued the day).
