Spring comes late to these mountains, though typically not as late as it has this year.
You’d think that would be good for a writer — keep me indoors and typing — but the truth is that it largely sucks.
I live in the mountains too and this year it seems spring will never arrive. The tomatoes and squash I planted in tubs (on the one warm weekend we’ve had) have been sitting in the dining room so the freezing temps don’t kill them. There was ice on the back deck this morning. Sigh.

Same here; our kitchen counter looks (and smells) like a greenhouse.
Temps are set to soar to 70 today; I’m spending at least part of it outdoors.
