Why the strike through Forever? Some kind of law against reproducing a stamp in its entirety or am I missing an otherwise obvious deeper meaning?
Probably some kind of blow against counterfeiting (the graphic came that way from the USPS). A hopeless gesture in the digital age, but then, a black bar wasn’t all that expensive to add (hopefully).
A small price to pay to get a Twain pic on the Underground…
