More than 13 years ago I moved away from the Silicon Valley and into a tiny community built on the side of an honest-to-goodness stratovolcano. Big move.
Client contact is a lot harder and the lack of services sometimes rankles, but there are compensations:

For whatever these mountain communities may seem to “lack,” they make up for with their views. It’s always worth it…
Throw a three year-old into the mix, and things start to look a little different. I’d die if I was forced to move back to the Silicon Valley, but I could probably live with a college town surrounded by empty space…
